Connotation paragraph

In addition to using alliteration to point out John's positive mood, the author uses similes to compare his energy to that of a bouncing rabbit. The lines "jumping like a bunny" and "kicking like a jackrabbit" give us an image of a young boy jumping with joy (Fred 2). This shows how happy John was to recieve his birthday present earlier in the piece.
